Study rooms are reserved for Prairie State College students and are for student group use only. A group can check out a study room with a current PSC Student ID. They are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis for the day. You can only reserve one time slot per day for any group and reservations may only be made for that day.
There are three group study rooms available in the library; all study rooms require two or more students to sign out a room. All groups are allowed only one 2-hour time slot per day to allow other students the opportunity to obtain a study room. All study room users must follow the study room rules that are posted in the study rooms as well as all other library rules.
Each study room is equipped with a computer and large-screen monitor.
You can use your Library account to order books, movies, and even video games from any of our partner Libraries. To do this go to the SWAN Catalog and register your account. From there you can request holds and items can be sent to the Library.
The Library has both black & white ($0.10/page) and color printing ($0.50/page) available. To release any print job, you will need to enter your PSC ID number located on your PSC ID. For more information please see our section on Printing.
Faculty member at Prairie State College can request the Library to put materials on reserve so that students may check them out. For more information on this procedure please see our Reserve policy.
With the exception of serials and items not available for checkout, library staff or faculty members may choose to place any materials on reserve. If a faculty member puts a personal item on reserve, the library must be allowed to place a bar code and spine label on the item. While a personal item remains the property of the faculty member, a bar code allows the library to properly control the item and assign responsibility for the item when it is checked out to a borrower.
